These fun and artistic creatures are made individually by women of the “White Thai” ethnic minority in the highlands west of Hanoi, Vietnam, from fabrics they hand weave for their own clothing. Each piece features traditional patterns and colors.
Wooven embraces this project as one of the best examples of a group using a traditional craft to develop a new and hopefully reliable source of income for its people.
No two are exactly alike.
They range in size from the bear at about 8" tall to the dinosaur and at nearly 14" long.
